I want to share with you how everyday objects inspire me as an artist. Whether it's a dented antique teapot, a chipped cup, or a simple piece of pottery, these items truly spark my creativity. I carefully choose each piece based on its unique qualities like shape, color, and texture. It may take weeks or even months before I find the perfect place for them in my paintings.
I especially love working with brass, copper, and hand-thrown pottery. Their shapes and colors are so captivating to me. When I arrange them together, I focus on how the play of light can bring them to life.
Speaking of light, it's my ultimate muse. The way light interacts with the objects I paint is simply magical. It sets the mood and transforms the ordinary into something extraordinary. I always prioritize capturing the essence of light in my work because it adds depth and beauty to everything I paint.
In my art, I aim to balance realism with a focus on the luminous quality of light. It's truly the light that breathes life into my still life paintings. Without it, the objects would appear flat and lifeless. That's why I believe in letting the light guide me and infuse my work with its poetic and magical presence.
I hope you can see the beauty and wonder that light brings to my art. It's truly a joy to create and share my passion with others. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about what inspires me as an artist.
